A week is a unit of time equal to seven consecutive days. It has no astronomical basis in the movements of time.
The week’s origin is generally associated with the ancient Jews and the biblical account of the Creation.
Each day in our week is named after a Norse God, Thor for Thursday, Tuve for Tuesday, Woden for Wednesday, and Friga for Friday), or Roman (Saturn for Saturday).
However, Sunday and Monday are named for astronomical bodies, the sun and the moon.
We find that among all the ancient nations - Chaldeans, Persians, Hindoos, and the Chinese, - the 7 Day Week was in universal use.
The Romans, whose week lasted eight. but in 321 AD, Emperor Constantine the Great officially decreed a seven-day week in the Roman Empire, including making Sunday a public holiday.

The Babylonians divided their lunar months into seven-day week.
1 week = 7 days = 168 hours = 10,080 minutes = 604,800 seconds.
In a Gregorian mean year, there are 365.2425 days, and thus exactly 52+71⁄400 or 52.1775 weeks. Note the 52, the 400, and the 1775.
Every 400 years, the date in the year is the same day of the week. i.e. Sunday, etc.
May 26, 1624 was a Sunday and it will be a Sunday on May 26, 2024.
Relative to the path of the Moon, a week is 23.659% of an average lunation or 94.637% of an average quarter lunation.
More incredible is that these nations all named their days of the week for the seven planets (with Sun & Moon) that they saw in the sky.
And greater still, they each named the “same days” after the “same planets” regardless of which day was their first day of the week.
It no mere accident.
These references predate the deluge to a common understanding back to Adam’s day.
The 7 Day Cycle, or the "Week," was instituted by God Himself. It was patterned after the completed creation-week.
Then God said,
"Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens
to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs and seasons,
and for days and years;
Genesis 1:14
The planets, sun and moon were set up by God to install calendars for tracking the days, seasons and years.
The Seven-Day Week is a sign in the heavens.
