Why Ancient Ba'al Is In Modern America (Post 3 of 7 - The Cloud Rider)

Updated: May 8, 2024

Ba'al was a personalized idol called a baali.

Baali translated is "my lord" "my master."

My Idol

The modern world is familiar with a form of this personalization.

For example, Windows came out with "My Documents," and "My Pictures."

But Windows was not the only company that followed this individualization motif. Apple was not far behind and made a more popular version of this practice with their "i" series of gadgets.

Baali is "my master," "my lord," or "my Baal."

When we look at the word baali and notice the "i" at the end, we can see how the "i" is used in iPhone as well to indicate a personalized version of wood or metal carried around by a person.

A baali idol is pictured here:

Does that name ring a bell from the recent past?

Does "baali idol" that pocket god from the ancient past ring a bell in fairly recent modern reference?

Though his reason to chose his stage name was nothing to do with "baali," the similarity is striking.

Yet the names "baali" and Ba'al show up more often than one would think. Let's explore some other references.
