It hasn't happened since Thomas Jefferson was president.
2024 is the year of the cicada.
The convergence of Eclipse paths over southern Illinois is a rare natural event, as it hits the city of Carbondale twice in a seven-year period, a mere twinkling of the eye in astronomical timespans.
Yet, something else is happening there also.
The emergence of two broods of cicada that has not occurred in 221 years
"This is a once-in-a-generation spectacle that will be even better than April’s total solar eclipse." says one cicada enthusiast. Peopefrom all over the globe are descending on Illinois, not just fir the eclipse, but for this double emergence.
Two cicada groups, one in a 13-year hibernation cycle, the XIX brood, and another that erupts from the ground every 17-years, Brood XIII, are about to erupt out of the ground at the same time, in the same place.
This double emergence is the first time this has happened since the year 1803.
This means that Jefferson was president, George Washington has passed away only a few years prior, and we were a whopping 166 years away from men stepping foot on the moon. Even the Civil War was still 58 years away.
The world was very different the last time this event occurred.
Where else would they erupt but in the same state and the same month as the Total Solar Eclipse.
They count the years and wait until the time is right and the temperature reaches 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Then they emerge. There are also 6400 different species of cicada.
Harmless to humans, Cicadas will emerge in the strength of numbers. Here is the sign: Over 100 trillion cicadas will emerge immediately after the eclipse in the same land where the Tav Mark is being painted in light and shadow.
Restoring the Land
From birth to death, these insects shape the forest around them.
By late June, there will be millions of pounds of cicadas piling up at the base of trees, decomposing. Dead cicadas have a fertilizing effect, feeding microbes in the soil that help plants grow. And as their remnants make their way into woodland ponds and streams, cicada nutrients are carried downstream, where they may strengthen aquatic ecosystems far beyond their home tree.
If My people who are called by My name
will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face,

For Christians who have prayed for this nation for many years, are we finally going to see the Lord start to heal the land?
Fear Not!
Like the eclipse, the Cicadas are an event happening where the Lord is point for us to look.
“This is an amazing natural phenomenon to wonder about,
not something to be afraid of.”
But it is not just that the cicadas and the eclipse are happening in the same place at the same time, because there is something else. Another connection exists thatthe Lord is pointing out to us: The Kaskaskia people and the cicadas.
