More Modern Ba'al Name References That You Didn't Realize (Post 4 of 7 - The Cloud Rider)

Updated: May 8, 2024

Ba'al is an ancient false god name, but it appears in modern society more than we think.

Here are a few examples.

  • iPhone (as well as all iDevices) is an obvious connection to the word "baali"

  • the similarity of the name "baali idol"(personalized household idol) to the name of Billy Idol (intentional or not)

  • In the video game The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf, there are characters called "baali" which are a clan of vampires associated with demon worship.

The Island of Ba'al?

Baali is the name of an idol and Bali is the name of an island.

Bali also means "my Baal," according to Strong Concordance #1180

In Hindu: Baali means a demonic god

There is no direct evidence that this island nation was named for the Cloud Rider but the name bares a similarity which cannot be easily overlooked. The default religion of Bali is Balinese Hinduism which assigns a god to every item of nature. Their rain god is Indra, not Baal, but again consider the island chain name: Bali and the number of individualized gods for different aspects of life.

It is the same system.

The New Look

Since the 1920's, women's 'foundation' garments were used to flatten the female figure, but then came the bra that changed it all. It was the Bali Bra.

The association with Baali idolatry is the fact that worship of Ba‘al was carried out in terms of imitative magic. Whereby temple prostitutes accented the female sexual attributes to arouse Ba'al to fertilize the land.

The worship of this idol consisted in exposing that part of the body which all persons usually take the utmost care to conceal.

Thus, is it any surprise that the change in female undergarments was made to accentuate the female form to arouse men.

"Baali" Wood

In Asia, specifically in India, film production began to ramp up in the region.

As American is the home of Hollywood, India used a play on words can called their film studios Bollywood, pronounced "baali" wood.
