#19: The Final 21

When we look at the end of the Bible, we can see the final entry is none other than the Book of Revelation. Oh, how the mind races at the mention of its name!

It appropriately sits last in Scripture’s grand scheme since it the endgame of God‘s plan for humanity. However, just because the concluding book is positioned in the Bible doesn’t mean it was the last book written.

There are some theories about which book was the last one.

One thing we are pretty sure of is that the writer of the last Biblical book was John the Apostle. Though the Catholic church has long held Revelation as the final Canon entry, it may also have been another book that he wrote. John composed both: The Book of Revelation and John’s Gospel, along with a few epistles.

Consequently, a potential consensus is that John’s Gospel may have been drafted after the book of Revelation, making it even more recent that the book reveals the end times.

Here is where things take a dramatic turn. Some have even postulated that the last book in the Canon may indeed be the Gospel of John.

One of the Last Books of the Bible

The Gospel of John has 21 chapters framing this candidate as one based on the number 21. This opens up a line of reasoning with incredible possibilities.

Consider that If John’s Gospel is indeed the last book written in the Bible, its structure is the number 21.

The last book written in Scripture is based upon the number 21, where Chapter 21 is the final chapter written of Scripture. Then we legitimately ask, what is the 21st word of the last chronological chapter written in the Bible?

See below.

It is “showed” or “manifested.”

After these things, Jesus showed (5 words) Himself again to the disciples (10) at the Sea of Tiberias, (15) and in this way, (19) He (20) showed (21) Himself (22): John 21:1; 21st word.

Manifestation

Note that it is part of the last phrase: “He showed Himself.” Jesus manifested in His gloriously resurrected body as a first fruit of what we will become at the Rapture. Think of this great idea’s impact:

The 21st word of the last 21st Chapter ever written in the Bible is that Jesus manifested.

It is quite possible that the 21st word of the 21st chapter, the last chapter of the last book, says, He “manifested,” meaning that Jesus appeared, His glorious appearing, a foreshadowing of the Rapture, which will see us appear as He is.

The 21st word: Jesus appeared

He showed Himself.

21

However, if we conclude the last book of the Bible is the Book of Revelation, another possibility emerges.

We could ask, from the last book in the Bible, counting backward from the last word written, what is the 21st word? If we do this, we find some astonishing things there as well.

From the last book in the Bible, we could ask, counting backward from the last word written, what is the 21st word? However, as we search this out, we discover that this chapter contains 21 verses.

The last chapter of the last book in the Bible has 21 verses

Note that from the last word written, counting backward to the 21st word. It falls on a word we know as the name of God: I AM.

Further, it falls on a phrase that says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Here again, we see Jesus is about to be made manifest, and the term I AM is a name of God which is divisible by 21.

So whether we find ourselves in the camp that the Gospel of John or the Book of Revelation is the final book, a 21 connection exists that says that he will show Himself.

21’s final declaration is that we are going to see Jesus.

Believe this word from the Lord, and do not let Him pass us by until we get what He promised us by it. He spoke this for a reason, who will have the faith to receive it?

“It’s the 21st Year!”
