#15: Twenty-One “21” Chapters: Part III

There are twenty-four twenty-first chapters out of the Bible’s sixty-six books; about 1-out-4 have a twenty-first chapter.

Twenty-one chapters were chosen to review their ideas, separated into three posts; this is the final group of seven chapters. As we have been studying, these chapters introduce grand themes and are aligned with the word given to declare that this is the 21st year.

21 and the Future

The first four chapters plan out a path to the future. They prophesy, declare victory, and speak of a new beginning but make no mistake; these are certain things “to come.” Get ready to jump into the future with the final “21st” chapters.

15.) In a dark moment, possibly late at night, the disciples inquire of what is to come. According to Luke, Jesus unleashes events of future tragedies and glories in the 21st chapter of the Gospel. It is called the end times discourse.

This 21st chapter tells us of false Christs, rumors of war, and end time signs that herald that the age was about to close. It talks of the coming of the Son of Man, capping off a powerful narrative about the last days.

16.) Psalm 21 is called the Victorious King psalm. When the King returns, He will have vengeance upon His enemies.

Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. Psalm 21:8-9

17.) Isaiah chapter 21 introduces the phrase “Babylon is fallen! Babylon is fallen!“ This is where we know that the world system will be judged, and a mighty fall it will be. The final blow to the god of this world will be had at the hand of the King of Kings. This chapter connects to Revelation 14.

And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, …because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

18.) Revelation 21 unveils something that owns top real estate on everyone’s Great Hope list: a New Heaven and a New Earth. Here is shown a city whose builder and maker is God, that is the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven to the earth. It is the perfect city, better than utopias of men, and the complete fulfillment of Eden’s paradise. Now all men will be able to live with God forever, and never will there be sadness or mourning again. This is the most excellent cure for redeemed humanity: to make all things new, and it is found in a “21st” chapter of the Bible.

21 and Misc.

The final three sections round out our twenty-one “21st” chapters concerning how a king can error and be restored, how to defend against false accusations, and how the most excellent Biblical writer is identified as a Jew, a Christian, and a Roman, all in one chapter.

19.)1 Chronicles chapter 21 shows how the king sinned by a census.

20.) Job 21 shows how a righteous man defends against false accusation

21.) Acts 21 Paul is introduced as A Jew from Tarsus.

“It’s the 21st Year!”
